Top Songwriter Dallas Davidson

Nashville -- Chart topping country singer-songwriter, Dallas Davidson has extended his four year relationship with EMI Music Publishing, the world’s leading publisher of popular music, announced EMI Music Publishing Nashville Executive Vice President, Ben Vaughn, today.

Davidson is one of the most in-demand writers in the industry, whose recent collaborations include songs for Lady Antebellum (‘We Owned The Night’), Luke Bryan (‘I Don’t Want This Night To End’, ‘Country Girl Shake It For Me’), Blake Shelton (‘It’s All About Tonight’) and Montgomery/Gentry (‘Where I Come From’). The new co-publishing deal sees EMI Music Publishing continue to represent his catalogue and future works in partnership with Davidson’s Two Chord Georgia Music on a worldwide basis.

Following early success with 2006’s ‘Honky Tonk Badonadonk’ (Trace Adkins) Davidson’s writing credits have spanned some of the biggest and best loved country hits of the last five years and he’s notched up an impressive 16 top 20 singles 12 of which are number one’s including ‘Start a Band’ (Brad Paisley & Keith Urban), ‘That's How Country Boys Roll’ (Billy Currington), ‘Rain Is A Good Thing’ (Luke Bryan),  ‘Gimmie That Girl’ (Joe Nichols), ‘If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away’ (Justin Moore) and the crossover hit ‘Just A Kiss’ (Lady Antebellum).

His consistent ability to pen chart topping hits has lead to numerous awards and industry accolades.  He was crowned this years’ BMI Songwriter of the Year and was also awarded BMI’s Song Of The Year for ‘All over Me’ (Josh Turner). In 2010 Davidson was named by Billboard as Hot Country Music Songwriter of the year and this year he was ranked second and he is a three-time recipient of CMA's Triple Play Award.
