  • MECHANICAL LICENSING

To obtain a mechanical license for one of our songs, provided you are not changing any of the music or lyrics, please call the Harry Fox Agency, Phone: 212.370.5330 / Fax: 646-487-6746, or write to them at The Harry Fox Agency, 601 West 26th Street, New York, NY 10001, or refer to their website:

    www.harryfox.com

Reduced Rates: EMI has stringent parameters for reduced rate consideration. If you are not able to pay an upfront advance on at least 5,000 units, you must obtain a license at the full statutory rate from our agent, the Harry Fox Agency.

Waiver Requests: EMI will only consider waiver requests for the sole benefit of valid 501(c) charity organizations. It is our policy to collect mechanicals on all units at the prevailing full statutory rate and to make donations directly to the charity based on accountings received. Requests complying with these criteria can be faxed to (212) 492-1927, Attn: EMI Waiver Requests.

Limited Mechanical Licensing Projects: If you plan to manufacture under 2,500 units and you are not changing the lyrics or using our Copyrighted Composition as a sample or interpolation etc., please obtain a mechanical license at the full statutory rate via The Harry Fox Agency’s Songfile system (www.songfile.com). Please note that neither the Harry Fox Agency nor our office issues voluntary licenses for less than 250 units. If you plan to manufacture less than 250 units and are not willing to pay a licensing fee equivalent to the fee for 250 units, please license via the compulsory provisions in the Copyright Law. For more information on compulsory licenses please see the Library of Congress' website (www.copyright.gov) or speak with an intellectual properties attorney.
