Amber Smith was formed in 1999 and it was one of the first indie bands that appeared on Hungarian stages, thus creating the birthplace of a domestic subculture that is very much alive and kicking these days.
After a series of lineup changes they started to get their reward in the form of a record contract in Germany. Their second album, 'My Little Servant' was released in 2003 and it took them success not just in Germany, but also in France, Spain, Croatia, Slovenia and even Japan.
Amber Smith is one of the special examples of being better known abroad, as in their own country.
After the Japanese gigs they started working on their newest LP, which came out in Europe in 2006 with the title 'Reprint'. Robin Guthrie, the musical mind of the Cocteau Twins was one member of the production team alongside Yonderboi, who could be considered as another one of Hungary's international music ambassadors.
