Doctor L is a french doctor of adoption: Irish by his father, English by his mother, Liam Farrell was born in Dublin in 1968. Settled in France from an early age, he lived the reality of the European identity even before our politicians created it.

A drummer in the adolescence for many rock bands (Taxi Girl, Wampas, Rita Mitsouko), Doctor L joined in 1990 the burgeoning hip-hop movement in France with the highly-rated pioneers Rockin Squat and Solo (Assassin). He conceived and produced the music of Homicide Involontaire and Futur Que Nous Reserve t-Il? (their two first albums).

Then, with a certain discretion, he was listed on numerous productions (Negresses Vertes, Stomy Bugsy, Kat Onoma, Tony Allen, Lenin), on remixes (Neneh Cherry, Arthur H.) and on scores for Mathieu Kassovitz, Cédric Klapisch. Doctor L doe not look for either honor or glory. He prefers to be recognized for what he knows how to make - the music!
