Grant studied piano and composition at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was awarded the prestigious Piano prize and ultimately achieved a B.A. with Hons. He has performed as soloist with symphony orchestras in London and Glasgow.

Despite his experience in the classical world, he was drawn to a career on the mainstream music business. After a spell writing and performing in various bands, he wrote commercials and station idents for Radio Clyde, before going on to produce the debut album for singer-songwriter Julia Fordham (Circa/Virgin), which gained an international profile and a Number 1 record in Japan, and an award for Mitchell in the Tokyo Music Festival for best arrangement.

He went on to produce and arrange a further 2 gold albums for Fordham, working with some of the worlds most respected musicians and receiving critical acclaim.

He has performed internationally on the Tonight Show (U.S), The World Music Awards (for HRH Queen Elizabeth), TOTP, Good Morning America, and on countless national TV and radio broadcasts.

Teaming up with award winning songwriter/producer Simon Climie, he played, arranged and programmed 5 Top 20 records for Louise and Eternal (1st Avenue/ EMI), and tracks for Eric Clapton, Lamont Dozier, MN8, Jenifer Rush, and Michelle Gayle.

He was then approached by legendary producer Trevor Horn to collaborate on co-production projects and subsequently joined the Sarm organisation. During this time he has worked with Seal, Lulu, Diane Warren, Wet Wet Wet, Elton John, Caron Wheeler (Soul 2 Soul), Joan Armatrading, Garly Barlow, Mark Owen (Take That), Beverly Knight, Sonique, Enrique Inglesias, Richard Derbyshire, Nu Colours, Kavanagh, Peter Andre, Robin Gibb, Jack Raddics, Curtis Steigers, John Secada, and also produced and arranged the gold debut album Earthbound for outstanding UK singer-songwriter Conner Reeves, including the huge radio hits My Fathers Son, and Earthbound.

Grant and long standing writing/production partner Graham Dickson formed G2 Music in 1999, based at their state of the art studio in West London. Signing to EMI Music in 2001, they have since co- written songs for Sonique (million selling debut album), Robin Gibb (Bee Gees) and Bob The Builder (five songs) amongst others. Grant and Graham were responsible for the Bob The Builder album which was not only a success worldwide, but also included the two UK number one singles – Can We Fix it? (best selling single of 2001) and Mambo No. 5. They went on to produce and arrange the Bob The Builder album, (released worldwide) co-writing five of the songs.

Grant & Graham have been working a wide range of projects, including writing and developing R&B /Pop band Frixion and virtual pop act The Glitter Moneys. He has also worked in various TV/Film projects for Channel 5, The Disney Channel and BBC Worldwide (Dick n Dom).
