David was not Burt Bacharach's first collaborator, but Hal is particularly remembered because of the tremendously rich body of work that he and Burt created, beginning in the late '50s and cresting with hit after hit after hit in the 1960's.

The Bacharach/David influence has resulted, not only in countless revivals of their classic ballads, but in familiar moments of recent motion pictures such as "My Best Friend's Wedding".

Rhino released a 3-CD retrospective called "The Look Of Love: The Burt Bacharach Collection". Included in the package are some of the EMI-published songs which Burt & Hal wrote for motion picture projects.

THE LOOK OF LOVE remains one of the most enduring Bacharach/David romantic ballads; it has not only been used in several movies but also in the fashion world, where Dusty Springfield's version was chosen to open the Gucci collection in 1996.

[Messrs. Bacharach & David also delivered the title tune CASINO ROYALE which became a Top 30 hit in 1967 for Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass on A&M.]
