Hal Lindes is an award
winning Anglo-American film composer based both in London and Los
Angeles. Hal joined the British group Dire Straits in
1980 and worked closely with Mark Knopfler on various groundbreaking
albums including Love Over Gold and Alchemy in addition to performing as
guitarist. After five years recording and touring Hal left Dire Straits to
concentrate more on his passion for film composing.
Hal’s scores have won
various awards in Britain, including a Royal Television Society Award for the BAFTA award nominated film Reckless and a TRIC award for Best TV
Theme Music – Thief Takers. As a
composer, musician, arranger and producer Hal’s compositions create a powerful
and evocative backdrop to all screen
genres.
His TV score work
includes the BBC's
modern comic
adaptation of Taming Of The Shrew
(2005), the Peter Norris produced Channel 4 drama NY-LON and the ITV
comedy pilot Easy Peasy.
Hal’s film
work includes Male-Mail, written and directed by David
Logan for Fox Search-Lab Pictures, Splinter
Cell IV for
Ubisoft and David Stenn's Girl 27.
Recently,
Hal scored the ITV mini-series Losing Gemma which formed a key part
of ITV Autumn 2006 drama schedule. The score infused eastern themes and
contemporary drama.
Hal also continues to work as a
guitarist and arranger with many distinguished artists including Tina Turner, Michael Bolton/Johnny
Halliday, Kiki Dee, and Fish.
And as an artist in his own right
has composed and produced Easy Listening for Virgin Records, Between The Lines for Silva Screen Records, Senses for Polygram, Best of the TV Detectives Vol. 1 for EMI Records, Best of German TV Themes for RTL and the Rugby World Cup Theme for Columbia.
