Gonzalez comes from the French alternative indie rock scene. Fan of bands such
as My Bloody Valentine or Tangerine Dream, this young French artist started with
a rock band and progressively became interested in electro pop, which lead him
to create M83.
The first eponymous
album was a success. With the second opus, Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost
Ghosts, released in May 2003, M83 started becoming well known in
England, where it received excellent
reviews from the press. The 3rd album, Before the Dawn Heals Us, was published
in 2005 & has been released in many territories, including USA (on
label "Mute Records"").
To keep his fan-base
waiting in between albums, he released Digital Shades vol. 1, a digital
release LP, and first issue of his "cinematic project" very Brian Eno inspired.
