Stefaan Fernande started as a band member; he was the keyboard player, backing vocalist and main songwriter of a group called "The Big Noise". They got signed by EMI record company, and made one album and four singles.
"Mama Linda" quickly noticed him, and proposed to do his management. She also was the manager of Belgium's top-selling and legendary band "Clouseau". Stefaan left his band and decided to only write for other people.
In 1996 Clouseau recorded his song Nobelprijs and hit the number one spot for 9 weeks.
For the next following three years the song was chosen as "best Belgian song ever" by Radio Donna (main Belgian national radio). Then he wrote the Belgian classics as Porselein and Meisjes Aan de Macht for Yasmine. Thanks to these songs, she became one of the most respected singers in Belgium.
He wrote FIVE number one hits for the boy band "Get Ready!" and produced two of their albums (lots of gold and platinum stuff).
In 2002 he went to Paris to produce a single of Amanda Lear (famous 70's disco/camp queen).
Over the years Stefaan has had 11 top 5 hits, and in 2007 he had two official #1 hits: Scars performed by Stan Van Samang and Vonken en Vuur performed by Clouseau. Both singles also went Gold. Stefaan doesn't only write hits; often they become classics. He also had hits in Czech Republic, Slowakia, Poland, Italy, Holland and Denmark. Mostly he prefers to co-write with producer-composers, and loves to travel... He’s both composer and Lyricist (English and Dutch) specialising in quality hit songs. |
